Important Updates to StreetEasy Agent Tools

Here at StreetEasy, our goal is to have the most timely and accurate set of listings for NYC buyers, renters and sellers. To make sure we’re efficiently delivering listings to our NYC market, StreetEasy is rolling out an update to our listing entry and management software, a part of Agent Tools. Included in this update is the launch of a new mobile app (iOS and Android), exclusively for real estate agents.

With this upgrade, StreetEasy is providing dedicated training materials and access to our support team to ensure a smooth transition.  In addition to email and chat support, a video tutorial and helpful training materials will be available on the StreetEasy Agent Resource Center. We’re also hosting in-person training workshops with the StreetEasy customer support team (sign-ups available here). 

Q: What is Agent Tools & how is this different? 

StreetEasy Agent Tools encompasses all the offerings we provide to agents to help them do their job efficiently. This particular update provides agents with an upgraded experience that simplifies creating a listing on StreetEasy, and lets them quickly and accurately publish updates. This means NYC renters and buyers will now see new listings and changes in nearly real-time on StreetEasy. Specifically, the software update will provide agents with: 

  • A simplified listing entry process with tabs that help agents track their progress along the way.  
  • Expanded amenity fields for agents to provide more detail about listings including types of views, fireplace (wood, decorative, or gas), hardwood floors, wheelchair accessible & roof rights, and rental concessions. 
  • Ability to edit open houses (previously agents could only add or delete)
  • Online chat support

Q: Who will have access to Agent Tools and the new dedicated agent app? 

This upgrade improves the experience for our largest audience of agents, since more than 50% of listings on StreetEasy are entered directly. Any agent with a StreetEasy account can download the StreetEasy Agent Tools App on iOS or Android. Since this update is specific to listing entry, the upgraded features will only be noticeable to agents who manually enter their listings directly on StreetEasy.  In other words brokerages that provide a feed to StreetEasy will not see any changes. Speak to your broker if you are interested in switching.

Q: When is this happening? 

The change is effective immediately and agents can log in to Agent Tools now, and/or download the StreetEasy Agent Tools app  to see the upgrades. 

Q: What changes will agents see to the way they create listings?

For the first time, agents have access to an exclusive app, where they can create listings on the go. On desktop, agents may notice upgrades in a few areas including:

How different is this system? Will agents need (or receive) training?

StreetEasy spent the past month  testing this software update with our pilot partners, hosting live trainings and gathering feedback from close to 200 local agents. During this time, many reported that the changes were intuitive and they did not require further training. However, StreetEasy is providing dedicated training materials and access to our support team to ensure a smooth transition. In addition to email and chat support,  a video tutorial and in-person training workshops with the StreetEasy customer support team will be available via the StreetEasy Agent Resource Center. 

Q: Will there be any impact on my existing listings? 

Existing listings remain as they are and can continue to be modified as needed. The only impact for existing listings is that agents can see the new listing entry software when making new edits. Agent can also edit existing listings once they’ve downloaded and logged-in to the new StreetEasy Agent Tools app. 

Q: Is there an added cost?

There is no change to the pricing structure at this time, this is simply a software update.
