How to enable total monthly price for feed partners

If your company syndicates rental listings to StreetEasy via a data feed, total monthly price enablement is managed at the company level by the StreetEasy support team on your behalf. Total monthly price is the all-in monthly cost of renting a unit, calculated as base rent plus any required monthly fees. Once enabled, it displays as the primary price across your portfolio’s active rental listings, giving renters a transparent view of true affordability upfront.

Note: Total monthly price must be explicitly enabled for your company. It does not publish automatically, even when required fee data is present in your feed. Listings without required fee data will continue to display base rent.

Use this method if your company syndicates rental listings to StreetEasy via a data feed. Total monthly price enablement for feed partners is managed at the company level by the StreetEasy support team on your behalf.

Before Requesting Enablement

Confirm that the following are in place:

• Required monthly fee data is included in your feed. Total monthly price is calculated as base rent + fees that are both "required", “fixed” and "monthly." Optional fees are excluded.
• Required monthly fee data is included in your base rent. Your base rent includes required monthly fees and is being syndicated to StreetEasy. Optional fees are excluded.
• Your fee data has been reviewed for accuracy. Once total monthly price is enabled at the company level, it automatically applies across all applicable listings advertised by your team.

How to Request Enablement

1. Contact the  StreetEasy support team and request that Total Monthly Price be enabled for your company.
2. Provide your Company name so the StreetEasy support team can locate your account.
3. The StreetEasy support team will enable total monthly price at the company level. Once activated, Total monthly price will be applied across your portfolio's active rental listings.

How to Format Fee Types in your Feed

• All fee types will need to be inputted into your feed using the attached the formatting guide: https://streeteasy.com/nyc/home/feed_format#fee_types
• For example, when including a monthly Cable and internet fee in your total monthly price, it will need to be coded as cable_and_internet in your XML file.

To disable total monthly price for your Company:

• Contact the StreetEasy Support team to request the total monthly price be turned off. All listings in your company will revert to displaying base rent as the primary price.

Frequently Asked Questions

What fees count toward Total Monthly Price?

Only fees that are "required", "monthly", and “fixed” are included in the total monthly price calculation. For example: mandatory utility charges, required internet fees, or required insurance fees. Optional and variable fees are not included.

What if I don't have any required monthly fees?

You can still enable total monthly price. If no required monthly fees are entered, total monthly price will equal your base rent and will display accordingly on the listing.

Will enabling Total Monthly Price affect price history or net effective rent?

No. Price history, price changes, and net effective rent will continue to reference base rent. total monthly price is shown as the primary advertised price only.

Can I enable Total Monthly Price for some listings but not others?

Yes, for direct entry and FRBO listings, total monthly price is toggled at the individual listing level. For feed partners, the StreetEasy support team can enable or disable total monthly price at the Source Group level across a portfolio.

Where will Total Monthly Price be visible to renters?

When Total Monthly Price is enabled, it displays as the primary price on search results pages, listing detail pages, building detail pages, the homepage, My Activity, agent profiles, and in StreetEasy email alerts, providing renters with a consistent view of the total cost throughout their search.
