Your property manager account lets you update your building's description, amenities and policies, photos and video links, and fees directly — without contacting Customer Support. Changes to amenities and fees can affect listings in the building, so it's worth understanding how each type of edit works before you make changes.
Note: Condo and co-op buildings are managed by StreetEasy Support. If you manage one of these buildings, contact support@streeteasy.com. Buildings with an active Building Showcase campaign remain fully editable for content, with the exception of the hero image.
How to edit a building description
- Open the building from Buildings.
- Go to the Overview tab.
- Select the description field and make your edits.
- Select Save.
Two checks run automatically when you save:
- Fair housing. Descriptions are automatically screened for certain discriminatory language. Property managers remain responsible for ensuring their content complies with fair housing laws.
- Self-promotion. Phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs are blocked.
If either check fires, you'll see an error message. Remove the flagged content and save again. There is no review queue, the checks run immediately.
How to manage building amenities and policies
- Open the building from Buildings.
- Go to the Amenities & Policies tab.
- Select an amenity or policy to add it. Unselect it to remove it.
- Changes save automatically.
Amenities flow down to your listings. When you set an amenity at the building level, it applies to the building and to all listings in that building. You do not need to update each listing individually.
How to manage building media
- Open the building from Buildings.
- Go to the Media tab.
From the Media tab you can:
- Add or remove photos
- Add or remove video links
- Drag and drop photos to reorder them
- Rotate a photo to correct its orientation
Good to know: Building Showcase hero images are managed by StreetEasy, not through the workspace. To change a hero image, contact your StreetEasy representative. All other media changes are yours to make directly.
How to manage building fees
- Open the building from Buildings.
- Go to the building's Fees section.
- Add, edit, or delete fees as needed. Any fee type is allowed.
Important: Building fees are defaults for new listings — they do not update listings that are already live.
Here is how fees work:
- Live listings are not affected when you change a building fee. To update fees on a live listing, edit that listing directly.
- New manual listings you create will pre-fill their fee section from the building's fees. Those fees are fully editable before you save the listing. Once saved, they belong to that listing independently.
- New feed listings inherit building fees only when your feed does not send fee data of its own. Fees come from the building or the feed — never a mix of both.
- Off-market listings are never changed.
How to view building history
Every building has a History tab that shows:
- The date and time of each change
- The field that changed
- The previous and new values
- Who made the change — a named user on your team, or StreetEasy
History covers descriptions, amenities, media, fee types, advertising permissions, and unit count.

Frequently Asked Questions
If I update an amenity on the building, do I also have to update each listing?
No. Amenities and policies set at the building level apply automatically to all listings in that building. You only need to make the change once.
I changed a building fee but my live listings still show the old fee. Is something wrong?
No, that is expected behavior. Building fees and listing fees are stored separately. Changing a building fee sets the default for new listings only — it does not retroactively update listings that are already live. To update a live listing's fees, edit that listing directly.
What if I syndicate listings through a feed — do building fees apply?
If your feed sends fee data, the feed takes priority and building fees are not applied. If your feed sends no fee data for a listing, the building's fees will apply to that listing. Fees always come from one source — the building or the feed — never a combination of both.
Can I edit a building that has an active Building Showcase campaign?
Yes. Description, amenities, media, and fees remain editable on a Showcase building. What you cannot do on a Showcase building: add it to your portfolio, remove it from your portfolio, or change its advertising partner. Contact support@streeteasy.com for those changes.
Can I edit condo or co-op buildings?
No. Condo and co-op buildings are managed by StreetEasy Support. Contact support@streeteasy.com for any changes to those buildings.
Why can't I change the Building Showcase hero image?
Hero images for Building Showcase are managed by StreetEasy's Ad Ops team to maintain the quality of your paid campaign. Contact your StreetEasy representative to update a hero image.
