Preview is a free premarket status that helps you build buyer interest before your listing becomes Active. For up to 14 days, you can publicly market an eligible NYC sale listing on StreetEasy, Zillow, and Trulia, hear directly from interested buyers, and use their questions to prepare your launch with your seller.
What are the benefits of Preview?
Preview gives you an opportunity to:
- Build interest before going Active. Buyers can discover and save your listing and submit interest in a future tour.
- Hear directly from buyers. “Ask a question” inquiries go directly to you as the listing agent, so you can answer questions and learn what matters to buyers.
- Prepare your launch with your seller. Use early questions and feedback to inform pricing and presentation.
- Get a StreetEasy search reset when you go Active. Your listing’s search placement resets, but a specific position is not guaranteed.
Preview provides earlier exposure and feedback. It does not guarantee inquiries, a particular sale price, or a faster sale.
How do I publish a Preview listing?
Your listing must be an eligible NYC sale listing manually entered by a licensed agent. Rentals, for-sale-by-owner listings, feed listings, and listings in a private listing network are not eligible.
- Open your listing on StreetEasy.
- Under the Marketing tab, select Preview.
- Set the expected on-market date. Your premarket period can be up to 14 days.
- Review the applicable terms and confirm that your public marketing plan meets Preview’s requirements.
- Use the listing-status dropdown to publish.
Confirm your choice before publishing. Coming soon is another premarket option if your marketing plan includes additional public channels, such as your website, social media, email, or signage. You cannot switch to another premarket status after publication.
