How to use Coming soon for your StreetEasy sale listing

Coming soon is a free premarket status that lets you build buyer interest before your listing becomes Active while marketing through additional public channels. For up to 14 days, you can publicly market an eligible NYC sale listing on StreetEasy, Zillow, and Trulia, as well as through your website, social media, email, and signage.

When should I choose Coming soon?

Choose Coming soon if your premarket plan requires public marketing outside StreetEasy, Zillow, and Trulia. For example, you may want to promote the listing on your brokerage website, through social media or email, or with signage before it becomes Active.

Coming soon lets you build early interest while using those channels. Before publishing, make sure you and your seller understand that days on market and visible price changes begin at Coming soon publication, and StreetEasy search placement does not reset when the listing becomes Active. 

How do I publish a Coming soon listing?

1. Open your listing on StreetEasy.
2. Under the Marketing tab, select Coming soon.
3. Set the expected on-market date. Your premarket period can be up to 14 days.
4. Review the applicable terms and confirm that Coming soon fits your marketing plan.
5. Use the listing-status dropdown to publish.

Confirm your choice before publishing. You cannot switch to another premarket status after publication. 

Why do we recommend Preview?

Preview helps you build demand on the open market and prepare your launch with your seller. Compared with Coming soon, it offers three key differences:

• Direct buyer questions: On Preview, “Ask a question” inquiries go directly to you as the listing agent. You can answer questions and use that feedback to inform pricing and presentation. On Coming soon, these inquiries go to a buyer’s agent through StreetEasy Experts.
• A StreetEasy search reset when your listing goes Active: Preview resets your listing’s StreetEasy search placement when it becomes Active. Coming soon carries its placement forward without a reset. Note: a reset does not guarantee a particular position.
• Days on market begin when Active: Preview does not accrue or display days on market during the Preview period, and price changes made during that period are not shown. Coming soon accrues and displays days on market and shows price changes from publication. 

Neither status guarantees inquiries, a particular sale price, or a faster sale.
