Preview and Coming soon are premarket statuses. They mean a home is being shown to buyers for up to 14 days before it officially goes on the market.
- Preview: An early look at a home that will be going on the market soon. You can see it on StreetEasy, Zillow, and Trulia.
- Coming soon: Also an early look, with the home shown on StreetEasy and possibly other public websites.
In both cases, the listing agent has picked an expected on-market date. That's the date you can expect the home to become active and available to tour.
Finding and Exploring Listings
When you search for homes for sale on StreetEasy, you can filter your results to show premarket listings. Look for the Preview or Coming soon label on a listing.
On a premarket listing, you can:
- Browse the photos, description, and agent information
- Save the listing and share it with others
- Ask a question or request a tour
- Book a tour for a time after the expected on-market date
Tours can't take place while a home is still in its premarket period. You can only book for after the expected on-market date.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I tour it now?
- Tours can begin on or after the expected on-market date. Before then, you can submit your interest in a future tour, but your request is not a confirmed appointment. The agent you’ll reach out to will work with you to set up a tour.
- Why can’t I see days on market or recent price changes on a Preview listing?
- Preview is a short marketing period before the home becomes Active. It’s a testing ground for the seller and their listing agent to refine listing strategy, so days on market do not accrue during Preview, and price changes made during this period are not shown. The property’s past listing history remains visible.
- Who gets my question or tour request?
- On a Preview listing, “Ask a question” goes directly to the listing agent. “Request a tour” connects you with a buyer’s agent through StreetEasy Experts.
- On a Coming soon listing, “Ask a question” connects you with a buyer’s agent through StreetEasy Experts.
